Understand Your Visa Condition – VEVO Check

10 Min Chat - No Charge

If you’ve been granted a visa for Australia the visa grant will usually be accompanied by conditions with which the visa holder must comply. A list of the visa conditions can be found in Schedule 8 of the Migration Act. I have listed these visa conditions which are typically a four-digit number starting with the numeral 8.

If you need some assistance in understanding any visa conditions which apply to your visa, then please contact me for a discussion. If you’d like to check what conditions are applicable to your visa grant, you can review the visa grant letter which you may have received by email. Australia Immigration Department has created a system called Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO) which allows visa holders, employers and other organisations to check visa conditions. You can click the link here to do a VEVO check now or by accessing the link in the email you received.

VEVO can only provide information for people who have their details available in the immigration systems. Please note, if you migrated to Australia before 1990 and have not since travelled out of Australia, you will not be able to find your information on VEVO system. Also, VEVO check is not available for Australia citizens.

Please note that failure to comply with a condition stipulated in your visa may set you up for a visa cancellation under section 116 of the Migration Act. This has some pretty severe consequences so please make sure you understand what visa conditions apply to your visa and that you comply with those conditions.
