Bridging Visas – Staying Lawfully in Australia

Bridging visas allow individuals to stay in Australia legally while waiting for their visa application outcome or other immigration processes.

• Bridging Visa A (BVA) (Subclass 010): Granted to individuals who have applied for a new visa while holding a valid visa.
• Bridging Visa B (BVB) (Subclass 020): Allows applicants to leave and return to Australia while waiting for a visa decision.
• Bridging Visa C (BVC) (Subclass 030): For those who apply for a new visa while holding no current visa.
• Bridging Visa E (BVE) (Subclass 050 & 051): Granted to unlawful non-citizens while they make arrangements to leave Australia or wait for an immigration decision.

Resident Return Visa (RRV) – Renew Your Permanent Residency

If you are a former permanent resident or an Australian citizen who has lost citizenship, you may need a Resident Return Visa (RRV) (Subclass 155 & 157) to re-enter Australia and maintain your permanent residency status.

Best for:
✅ Permanent residents needing to travel internationally while maintaining PR status.
✅ Former Australian citizens who need re-entry permission.

Medical Treatment Visa (Subclass 602) – Healthcare in Australia

This visa is for individuals needing medical treatment or consultations in Australia. It is not a work visa and does not provide permanent residency.

✅ For those traveling to Australia exclusively for medical reasons.
✅ Available to donors, organ recipients, or medical trial participants.
✅ Allows for multiple entries based on medical necessity.

Former Resident Visa (Subclass 151) – Returning to Australia

For former Australian permanent residents and long-term residents who left Australia as children, this visa provides a pathway back to Australia with PR status.

✅ Best for individuals who lived in Australia as children and want to return permanently.
✅ Also available to former Australian Defence Force members who served at least 3 years.

Special Category Visa (Subclass 444) – For New Zealand Citizens

New Zealand citizens can live and work in Australia indefinitely under the Special Category Visa (Subclass 444), but this visa does not provide automatic permanent residency.
