No. Paper Form 929, Change of contact and/or passport details, was withdrawn from 25 November 2024 and can no longer be used. Update your contact and passport details through ImmiAccount or the Department's "Change in your situation" guidance instead.

Through ImmiAccount's update-details function if your application was lodged online, or via the Department's "Change in your situation" page, which directs you to the right online channel for your circumstances.

Does the 14-day address rule still apply without Form 929?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you intend to change your residential address for more than 14 days while your application is being processed, you must tell the Department before you move. The obligation survived the form.

Do I need to tell the Department about a new passport after my visa is granted?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your visa is linked electronically to your passport details. Update the Department with the new bio-data page before you travel, or you risk being unable to board.

What is the difference between updating details and Form 1022?

Updating contact or passport details is now an online update. Form 1022 notifies changes in circumstances that make an answer on your application incorrect — relationships, employment, new children — under s 104 of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
