PERMANENT RESIDENCE PATHWAYS

Which pathway is right for you?

Australia has multiple pathways to permanent residence. The right pathway depends on your occupation, points score, employer, and personal circumstances. I identify the fastest and most secure route for you.

🌏
Skilled Independent
Subclass 189 · Points-tested
Points-tested permanent residence without employer or state sponsorship. The independent pathway for skilled workers with high points scores. No commitment to live in a particular state.
🏛️
State Nominated
Subclass 190 · State nomination
State-nominated permanent residence with an additional 5 points. Requires a commitment to live and work in the nominating state or territory for at least two years.
🌾
Skilled Work Regional
Subclass 491 · Regional pathway
Regional skilled migration pathway. A temporary visa with a clear pathway to permanent residence (subclass 191) after three years of living and working in a designated regional area.
💼
Employer Nomination Scheme
Subclass 186 · Employer sponsored
Permanent residence through employer nomination. Direct entry, Temporary Residence Transition (TRT), and labour agreement streams. I advise both employers and employees.
🌾
Regional Sponsored Migration
Subclass 187 · Regional employer
Permanent residence for workers in regional Australia through employer sponsorship. Direct entry and TRT streams for regional employers and their sponsored workers.
TIME CRITICAL
⚖️
PR Refusal Appeals
ART Review · Appeals
Expert review and appeal of refused permanent residence applications. I identify errors in the decision and represent you at the Administrative Review Tribunal.
POINTS TEST

Maximising your points score

The points test determines your competitiveness in SkillSelect invitation rounds. I conduct a detailed analysis of your score across all categories and identify legitimate strategies to maximise your total.

Age
Up to 30 points
Maximum 30 points for applicants aged 25–32. Points reduce progressively for older applicants.
English Language
Up to 20 points
Up to 20 points for superior English (IELTS 8 in each band). 10 points for proficient English.
Skilled Employment
Up to 20 points
Up to 20 points for 8+ years of skilled employment in Australia. Overseas employment also scores.
Education
Up to 20 points
Up to 20 points for a doctorate from an Australian institution. Various qualifications score differently.
State Nomination / Partner
Up to 15 points
5 points for state nomination (190) or 15 points for regional nomination (491). Partner skills also score.

Important: Points test criteria and invitation cut-offs change regularly. Always verify current requirements on the Department of Home Affairs SkillSelect page.

HOW IT WORKS

From EOI to permanent residence

1
Assess your points score
I conduct a detailed assessment of your current points score across all categories — age, English, qualifications, employment, and additional factors. I identify where you can legitimately increase your score.
2
Identify the right pathway
Not all pathways are equal. I advise on whether subclass 189, 190, 491, or an employer-sponsored route gives you the best prospects, taking into account current invitation rounds and state nomination availability.
3
Lodge your Expression of Interest
I prepare and lodge your EOI in SkillSelect, ensuring every points claim is correctly documented and maximised. An accurate EOI avoids delays and adverse findings at the application stage.
4
Receive invitation and apply
When you receive an invitation, I prepare your complete visa application — skills assessment, health, police checks, and all supporting documents. You pay for each stage as we proceed.
No large upfront retainer

I operate on a milestone payment model. You pay for each stage of work as it is completed — not a large sum upfront. Before any work begins, I provide a written proposal setting out exactly what I will do and what each milestone costs. This is required under the Legal Profession Uniform Law and protects you as a client.
