Cement Renderer
Applying decorative and protective coverings of plaster, cement or similar materials to the interiors and exteriors of structures.
4415-11 Solid Plasterer Skill Level:
An AQF Certificate III or higher qualification is required. Registration or licensing may be required.
4415-11 Solid Plasterer Tasks Include:
- mixing plaster and cement
- applying coats of plaster to structures using trowels, and levels and smoothing coats to uniform thickness
- plumbing and straightening corners, angles and wall and ceiling surfaces
- applying finishing coats of plaster and smoothing surfaces
- creating decorative textures in finishing coats
- applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials
- may be spraying or applying protective glazes, water-proofing coats or vermiculite to structures or covered surfaces
- may be fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings
- may be laying floors of granolithic, terrazzo, cement or similar composition or finish concrete floors
- may be erecting scaffolds and trestles
