4311-13 Electrician (Special Class)
Servicing and repairing intricate and complex electrical or electronic circuitry.
4311-13 Electrician (Special Class) Skill Level:
An AQF Certificate III or higher qualification is required. Registration or licensing is required.
4311-13 Electrician (Special Class) Tasks Include:
- diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical circuitry which is of a complex nature
- analysing drawings and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation
- using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace faults
- dismantling units, repairing or replacing defective components and re-assembling them
- test-operating and monitoring the performance of systems, and adjusting settings
- recording causes of malfunctioning and action taken
- may be servicing and repairing circuitry in prototype and other non-standard units
- may be servicing and repairing components of electrical equipment powered by hydraulic, pneumatic or other non-electrical energy sources
