Biomedical Engineering Technician
Designing and evaluating biomedical devices and monitors their performance and cost.
3129-11 Biomedical Engineering Associate Skill Level:
An AQF Diploma or higher qualification or at least 3 years relevant experienceis required. Sometimes relevant experience is required in addition to the formal qualification.
3129-11 Biomedical Engineering Associate Tasks Include:
- designing, constructing or modifying biomedical devices to meet special requirements
- evaluating new biomedical technologies
- monitoring, controling, tracking and reporting on performance and costs of biomedical devices
- participating in the installation and commissioning of biomedical equipment
- performing preventative and breakdown maintenance of biomedical devices
- investigating and reports on incidences and injuries involving biomedical devices
- performing or assists in clinical procedures and measurements
- training users in the correct and safe use of equipment
