Applying and modifying established engineering practices such as the design and implementation of civil engineering projects.
2128-11 Civil Engineering Technologist Skill Level:
A bachelor degree or higher qualification is required. In some instances relevant experience is required in addition to the formal qualification. Registration or licensing may be required.
2128-11 Civil Engineering Technologist Tasks Include:
- assisting in the design and development of civil engineering projects
- modifying established practices or applying newly developed civil engineering practices
- overseeing specialist engineering tasks such as design drafting, estimating and operations control
- testing and evaluating construction materials and techniques
- providing marketing and support advice on civil engineering products such as construction materials
- outlining work programs and reviewing these for accuracy, adequacy and feasibility
